Green Rebel Adds 56-Meter Vessel to Growing Fleet

30th April 2024

Green Rebel has added another vessel to its growing fleet as we embark on further expansion.

Green Rebel has signed off on a long-term hire agreement with Glomar Offshore which will see a 56-metre multi-purpose vessel added to its fleet.

The new vessel will be involved in multiple projects including upcoming geophysical and geotechnical survey works in the North Sea and Irish Sea. Our existing fleet include the Roman Rebel and Lady Kathleen.

Green Rebel will be equipping the vessel with a full suite of survey equipment including a multibeam echosounder, a side scan sonar, a sub-bottom profiler and a magnetometer.

The ship also has 27 accommodation berths, a gym and a relaxation/games room on board.

“We’re delighted to take on the Glomar Vantage as we continue to expand our fleet and offering,” said CEO, Kieran Ivers.

“A survey team will be on board mapping large areas of the Irish Sea and North Sea as part of a major project. There will be 24 team members on board each rotation made up of 8 survey crew, a Marine Mammal Observer, a client rep and 14 vessel crew. ”

“Green Rebel was primarily set up to deliver services to the offshore renewable energy (ORE) sector in Ireland,” Kieran Ivers added.

“Whilst today, the majority of our work is outside the Irish market we continue to demonstrate the ambition and capability that will be required to ensure Ireland realises the economic benefits of Offshore Wind.

“We remain steadfast that Irish companies must be supported and protected in Government policy and action.”
